The 5 Dragons slot primarily features two types of symbols: playing card symbols and symbols themed around Chinese mythology and culture, such as golden animal statues or red money envelopes.
There are two other symbols with unique properties:
The green dragon is the Wild symbol, and can substitute for any other symbols aside from the Scatter symbol. The Wild symbol will only ever appear on the three reels in the centre of the slot machine.
The coin is the Scatter symbol, and in order to access the 5 Dragons slot’s bonus round, at least one of them needs to appear on each of the first three reels. For many other online slots, it doesn’t particularly matter where Scatter symbols appear so long as you have enough of them, so this seems like a bit of an odd design decision. However, the bonus, which we’ll explain in the section below, is very good, almost making up for how specific the conditions are to trigger it.

The themed icons are elegant, and both the slot’s music and background are evocative of Chinese tradition without being heavy-handed. While only the special symbols have accompanying animations, this doesn’t seem particularly bothersome in context, since all other themed symbols are ornate statues or traditional items.
