Gameplay and Design
Plunderin’ Pirates Hold & Win’s design is classic iSoftBet — cartoonish, colourful, and clean. You’ve got tropical blue seas in the background, a wooden reel frame straight off a galleon, and a raucous sea shanty playing in the background that made me smile every time I landed a win.
The grid is a standard 5×3 setup most of the time, but it can expand to 6 rows during the bonus round. The symbols are what you’d expect: low-paying card icons, mid-paying treasure chests and barrels, and high-paying pirate crews and ships.
But what I really liked in the base game were the Captain’s Bombs. I had a few spins where bombs rained down unexpectedly, turning symbols wild or converting low-pays into mid-tier loot. I even saw one lucky blast sprinkle the screen with coin symbols and land me straight into the Hold & Win round!
